Smells like: A long hike in the woods. A mug of cider around the campfire. An ode to those who live life outdoors.
The story: In colonial America, Mountain Ash trees were planted outside homes to offer protection from evil and ward off witches.
Also called "Witchwood trees," colonists thought them to be a shield from malevolence due to their 5-pointed star markings on the berries - the shape of a pentagram, a magical sigil of protection.
American mountain ash trees are native throughout the northeast and New Jersey, home to Wicked Flicker Candle Co. Maybe you'll spot one on your next hike.

Burn baby, burn.
Candle Safety + Care
- The first burn is the most important! Allow your candle to burn until the wax melt pool reaches the edges of the jar to keep the wax from "tunneling."
- NEVER burn your candle for more than 3-4 hours. This will cause it to burn too hot and too fast.
- Trim your wick to 1/4" before each burn. Get yourself a good wick trimmer, or a pair of scissors will do. This will prevent the wick from "mushrooming" aka carbon buildup that may contribute to an uneven burn or a tall, smoky flame.
- Burn your candle on a heat resistant surface away from wagging tails, sticky toddler fingers, drafty windows, and flammable objects. Never leave a candle unattended.
- Once there's 1/4 in. of wax left, it's time for a new one! We recommend repurposing the jar for cotton swabs, homemade jam, or random coins.
Junk-Free Promise
Wicked Flicker candles are made without the following:
- Animal testing
- Lead
- Paraffin/petroleum
- Phthalates
- Known carcinogens
- Excessive smoke/soot
We strive to use the cleanest, safest ingredients and are always testing new alternatives in order to improve.
Due to their more natural ingredients, Wicked Flicker candles release a subtler fragrance when lit (hot throw) than paraffin wax.
We aim to be environmentally sustainable wherever possible. Other than our tape and stickers, all packing materials are reusable or recyclable.
Handcrafted, Natural Goods
Our wax is 100% natural USA grown soy which means there may be some imperfections such as frosting, sinkholes, uneven surfaces, and wet spots. This is all totally normal for soy wax and does not effect the candle's performance at all. In fact, it's an indicator that it is indeed pure soy!
Due to the nature of this handmade product, it is subject to flaws like off-center wicks, crooked labels. No two batches of candles are totally identical.
