Our Story

Hey! I’m Kim, Wicked Flicker Candle Co.’s founder and maker, a junk-free candle brand inspired by storytelling. Each scent is a custom, curated blend crafted around the story that inspired it from book tropes, reading vibes, folklore, and mythology. You'll find the story behind each candle in the product description along with a book recommendation. 

After working in the art industry for over a decade, I sought a creative outlet of my own back in 2022. I purchased a candle making kit off Amazon and became obsessed with blending my own fragrances and making them smell like my favorite stories. I was also testing for what wouldn't give me one of my chronic headaches and fill my home with a more subtle sensory experience. Now that I have a little one at home, ingredients matter more than ever. 

The "Nevers" List

Wicked Flicker candles are made without the following:

• Animal testing
• Lead/heavy metals
• Paraffin/petroleum
• Phthalates
• Known carcinogens
• Bad vibes

Hand-poured in small batches in my little lakeside home in northern NJ, Wicked Flicker candles are "junk-free". There will never be paraffin wax (petroleum), phthalates (stuff that makes plastic more durable), and lead-based wicks in your candles. We also don't purchase supplies from companies that test their products on animals. We're always testing new alternatives to make your burn even safer. 

Our wax is made from 100% USA grown soybeans and our scents are custom blends of the highest quality essential and fragrance oils. We also use cotton wicks with woven paper threads for a clean, consistent burn. Our Room & Linen Sprays are made from plant-based ingredients.

We strive to use biodegradable, recyclable, or reusable packaging wherever possible.
